Profile Extrusions
Profile extrusions have non-circular cross sections that are specifically designed for a given medical application. The profile may be engineered for insertion, guidance, sampling, energy delivery, monitoring, and biopsies. Common profiles include D, X, C channel, L, I, rod, and square cross sections. Profiles can vary greatly in size and shape. Many profiles are inserted into cannula or other metal parts to provide guidance channels and sealing.
Tooling expertise is critical in the design of non-symmetrical profiles. Our in-house ability to design and modify extrusion dies and heads allow us to quickly prototype and refine any extrusion. Combined with co-extrusion and material capabilities a wide range of options can be customized for a given medical device.
All extrusions are manufactured in a ISO 13485:2003 registered facility under quality systems developed to be compliant with the FDA's Medical Device System Regulations 21 CFR Part 820. To inquire how Biomerics may help with your next project, please contact us or request a quote.
