History

Biomerics, LLC was founded in 1994 in Salt Lake City, as Utah Plastics Group. From our humble beginning of only three employees and one customer, Biomerics has grown into a full service polymer solution provider to the medical device and biotech industries.  Today we manufacture biomaterials, extrusions, injection molded components, and finished devices for many of the world's leading medical device corporations.

Biomerics entered the medical market as a custom injection molder for regional medical device and equipment manufacturers.  Over the years, we expanded our molding capabilities and added machining, tooling, cast molding, extrusion, and compounding capabilities.  In 2004, we moved into our current 75,000 square foot headquarters to expand clean room capabilities and floor space.  Also in 2004, we achieved our ISO 9001:2003 quality registration.

We introduced the Biomerics name in 2008 with our ongoing medical focus and introduction of our biomaterials.  In that same year, we completed the expansion of our state-of-the-art materials quality lab and added a 3,500 square foot medical device assembly room.  In 2009, we expanded our tooling capabilities via our strategic partnership with Biomerics Diamond Mold, also located in Salt Lake City.  In 2010, Biomerics entered into a strategic partnership with HTP-Meds of Ashaway, Rhode Island to provide our customers with a complete offering of medical device polymers, injection molding, extrusions, and OEM contract manufacturing.  In 2011, we continued our growth with the addition of a polyimide production line, a pharma compounding line, and additional Swiss machining capabilities.
