When you need different functionality at the proximal and distal ends of a catheter or device, look for bump/tapered and draw-down tubes. We have special expertise in this area and can vary the number and size of tapers along the length of the extrusion, as well as the wall thickness between the OD and ID. Tapered extrusions are commonly used in:
- Vascular access catheters
- Drainage catheters
- Endoscopy devices
- Dialysis
- Urology
- Delivery catheters & shafts
We can extrude up to five materials in a multilayer extrusion, allowing you to leverage the combined properties of multiple materials within a single tube. We specialize in:
- Striping
- Tie layering
- Multidurometer extrusions
- Overextrusion/jacket extrusion
We can jacket optical fiber, wire (both reel-to-reel and manual mandrel processes), and polymer extrusions including multilumen and coextruded materials. Jacketing can add properties including:
- Electrical insulation
- Impact resistance
- Elongation
- Lubricity
- Kink resistance
- Tensile strength
We specialize in extruded tubing for balloon catheters. Our extrusions have high concentricity and are capable of holding very tight tolerances. We extrude many materials, including:
- Pebax®
- Nylon
- Polyurethanes
Our Prolix line of medical fluid management tubing is designed for a wide range of procedural applications. Prolix high-pressure, low-pressure, and pressure-monitoring tubing is available in various sizes, materials and reinforcements. Our standard Prolix line includes:
- Prolix HPBT 1,200 psi Quadraflex™ high-pressure braided tubing
- Prolix HPCE 1,200 psi Quadraflex™ high-pressure coextrusion tubing
- Prolix HPC 1,000 psi high-pressure non-DEPH PVC tubing
- Prolix LPC 500 psi low-pressure non-DEPH PVC tubing
Standard tube sets don’t meet your needs? No problem. We can leverage our overmolding , solvent bonding and assembly operations to build customized fluid management tube sets, including:
- Fluid administration sets
- Inflation tubing
- Vacuum procedure sets
- Contrast injection sets
- Contrast transfer solutions
- Tube extensions
- Pressure monitoring sets
