FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (February 4, 2025) – Biomerics, the leading vertically integrated medical device contract manufacturer in the interventional device market, announced the addition of Quadraflex® AREX to its medical-grade polyurethane material offerings.
This new Quadraflex® product broadens Biomerics’ wide range of materials with chemistries and durometers for solution processing, complex extrusions, medical balloons and injection molding processes. Quadraflex® AREX, an aromatic polyether thermoplastic polyurethane, was developed in a key range of hardnesses to address the need for a high-quality medical-grade polymer that is available in high volumes and has a short lead time, competitive pricing and excellent technical support. This new product is ISO 10993 and USP Class VI compliant and is free of animal-derived materials. The continued development of Biomerics’ engineering Materials Center of Excellence keeps them at the forefront of contract design and manufacturing excellence in the polyurethane space.
Biomerics customizes polyurethanes and other engineered polymers for medical device applications, adding the desired colorants, radiopacifiers and other additives. Their customized polymer solutions meet the biocompatibility, biostability, durability and processing stability requirements for the most demanding catheters and interventional devices. Biomerics’ polymer chemists regularly develop and validate medical-grade polymers for a full range of highly specialized, complex interventional medical devices and components.
Kevin Grussing, President of Biomerics’ Plastics Division, says, “Our Quadra™ family of medical polyurethanes is a valuable element of our performance materials manufacturing capabilities. Investing in innovative, customizable solutions like this that are readily available at high volumes enables us to better serve our global customers.
